After a super long, semi-involuntary hiatus...I'm back!!!!! (hold the applause please)

Whew. After months unknown unable to recover a password for this here blog, I was able to log in magically. The power of the internet! Also, being away made me realize how much I miss it! It's so nice that the internet can house my random thoughts and ramblings - in my own hopes that someday they will make sense and bring all the wonderful things in the world together.

So, a new thing that I discovered which I LOVE is the post-punk kitchen on google video! I knew about the ppk and have their 'vegan cupcakes take over the world' book which is awesome - especially the chai latte cupcakes! But I never knew they had their own show - which you can watch entirely here.

Also, one other thing which I totally stole from a Boston blog New Brahmin, but which I love so much, that I feel ok about taking it....is......The Uniform Project - an idea completely after my own heart where a girl (who also inspires me to cut my hair) is wearing the same dress everyday for a year and is raising money for education in India - the story is much deeper than that and involves her own experience in grade school wearing uniforms and adding 'personal flair.' Like most good causes I come across these days, I sadly cannot donate, but it's still super inspiring and a great idea for introducting simplicity and creativity into my wardrobe instead of relying on buying buying buying. Which is a relief.

And the final plug I have for totally awesome things is the wnyc show radiolab. I'm sure I've already told everyone about this and have to give credit to my friend Sally who originally introduced it to me. It is just an incredibly dynamic fascinating program that continually amazes me - last night I listened to how, because cpr is so reliant on the proper rhythm, a new technique is being introduced where commonly known songs with the same tempo of the proper cpr rhythm are used to help people be more successful at the technique ( is that clear? or incredibly wordy-oh well, I don't want to edit) Ironically the song they use is "Stayin' Alive." The other song that also works at the same tempo is "Another one bites the dust." Needless to say, they chose the first option - good program - if you don't already know about it - check it out, HERE.
